Soft and hard reset Nokia N70

Soft Reset


The reset will restore all the phone’s settings to factory default.

*#7370#



Hard Reset


Please make backup before applying this type of reset, since it will restore the phone’s settings as well as erasing all the data in the phone memory.

  1. Switch off the phone.

  2. Press CALL + * + 3 + ON simultaneously until the phone is completely started.


note: The default password is 12345. You need to press and hold the key until the number appear.

    Hi, I tried procedure but my Nokia N70 still asks me for the lock code. Is there another procedure that you can recommend?

    @Sebulon: The default lock code is 12345.

    i dont hard reset coz make green dial + *+3 for default reset seting no hard reset

    if the phone asks where city you come from, does it mean it's been reformatted?

    this is the RIGHT way of formatting N70

    1) Switch off your phone
    2) Press and hold these 3 keys together:
    -green dial key
    -the star key(*)
    -the number 3 key (Ugh, I wish I had three hands...!!)
    3) Power on the phone

    @prashanth: Take off the battery, and insert back. Then, hard format the phone. You can also try to change the battery. If still not working, perhaps it's time to buy new phone. Good luck.

      Hi,have you forgotten the Security/Password code for your mobile?What is your mobile model?I suggest you to try default codes like 00000 or 12345.If it does not work out you can use master reset generated code from Unlock-free.com and reset the mobile.Here they provide master reset for Nokia (Basic) and Alcatel mobile models

    you can solve your this problem by updating you mobile software with nokia software updater on pc.It does not require any type of code.

    Soft-format:

    The soft-format code for Series 60 phones is *#7370# . You enter this code as you would enter a phone number in the Phone application. It performs a format of the Internal drive - All data will be lost if you use this feature.

    Hard-format:

    The method of performing a hard-format, i.e resetting it completely to factory defaults and removing all data, is as follows:

    Switch off the phone.
    Hold down the following three buttons: Green (call answer) button, * button, and ‘3? button
    While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone
    When the message ‘Formatting’ appears on the screen, release all of the buttons

    how to reformat n70?i had tried many times reformat but it said "lock code entered incorrectly 5 times code will unlock with in 5 mimutes" is it possible that there is onother lock code?how can i find it?
